One of the things about visiting tourist locations is that you often get tourists in your photos!  This is Blarney House, whose grounds also encompass Blarney Castle, where I did kiss the famous Blarney Stone (I could really use the gift of gab…).  Blarney Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Ireland.  These ladies were taking a long time setting up a really nice shot so I didn’t have time to wait around to get a picture without them in it.  I bet their picture was really pretty though!

I’ve been waiting for a challenge like this!  I call this slidehow Five Ways of Looking at a Lighthouse.

We walked the Bullig Bay Loop on the Beara Peninsula, just across the water from Ardnakinna Lighthouse on Bere Island.  We passed through several different terrains, and in each one we got a different view of the lighthouse.

It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think mine might be the view from the marshy inlet.  We had to pause at that spot for a bit because one of our group got separated and the guide had to backtrack to find her.  It all turned out well, though, and we had a lovely walk.

We had a lovely scenic walk near Dunboy on the coast of the Beara Peninsula.  The view at the end was particularly satisfying.  This is actually someone’s house or something, seen in the right of the picture, because apparently the public trail goes through their land.  Such a thing would be crazy in the US.  But can you image getting this view every day?  What lucky people!
