Star Wars at home

Sometimes, because I am an adult, I do adultish things like buy a house with hardwood floors and put down area rugs. This doesn’t sound like an interesting premise for a blog post, but I promise it actually is because here is my bedroom floor:

Why yes, those are X-wings on my floor. Ruggable has an entire line of licensed Star Wars rugs that are amazing, not to mention washable. When I discovered this, I immediately talked my husband into buying one (to be fair, it was not difficult). Did I buy Star Wars rugs for my kids’ rooms? No, I bought one for my room.

I actually really liked the red TIE Fighter Houndstooth one best, but the Rogue Squadron color scheme was better for the room. Plus, X-wings. X-wings! On my floor!

Aaaand then my husband bought the Millenium Falcon one for our office.

Then he was looking for something to put on the wall in there. When I said it should be something appropriate for the background of a Zoom call, naturally he showed me these from Displates. They are metal posters, super easy to hang.

So now we have lightsabers on our wall, too.

I think Ahsoka’s is my favorite but there are several awesome ones. (I would love a Mara Jade magenta one…)

How do you guys incorporate Star Wars (or your own fandom) into your interior decorating?? Or is it just me?

I got a ruggable rug but haven’t set it up yet! Is it lovely? I was nervous about buying one without being able to test it. Their designs are so awesome 🤩

Oh they are so pretty. Not exactly a comfy type of rug, but very functional too. Which one did you get??

Hi Mei-Mei, sadly with my skin condition it would be pointless me getting nice rugs or upholstery items like these. as my creams and stuff would ruin them But they do look amazing. That last rug image looks like one of your famous Fan Art Friday mandalas.
And seeing those posters makes me wish I had a printer so I could print out some of my images as wall hangers. Maybe one day I’ll get one.

I love the idea of you printing and hanging your works on your wall! It would be lovely as well as a lovely way to enjoy your hard work on them. Hope you can do it someday.

I LOVE this post! I have a whole wall of Doctor Who art in my living room! I met an artist through Etsy whose work I really connect with and I’ve commissioned her to do quite a few pieces for me. Basking in the vibe of Doctor Who just makes my day brighter when I’m happy and brings me up when I’m sad :). I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a post about it and this is absolutely the inspiration I need to write it.

I love your choices, too. I was looking at the X-Wing rug and as soon as it clicked and I realized I was looking at X-Wings my mouth dropped open. It’s so cool! You and your husband have made excellent choices here.

I’ve already started drafting the post! Which means, for me, it will be finished and posted anytime between a week and five months XD. Once it’s done I’ll be sure to link back to this post of yours so I can give the proper inspirational credit where credit is due :).
