Welcome back to our Star Wars coloring book club, where every now and then Kiri from Star Wars Anonymous and I color the same image to compare and contrast.

I had to double check that this was Jango Fett and not Boba before I started coloring. The double pistols are the clear giveaway that this guy’s armor should be blue. Also, his armor looks so nondescript, no personality or wear.
I have been a fan of Mandalorians since way back in Legends when Boba Fett’s real name was Jaster Meerel. (This has since been retconned at least twice.) I especially loved the Mando culture set out in Karen Traviss’s Legends books and the Knights of the Old Republic video games. The Clone Wars series also added some interesting things.
I am pleased to report that I finally have Disney+ and of course the first show I’m watching is The Mandalorian. I’m enjoying it vastly, spending half of the episode squeeing over Baby Yoda and the other half squeeing over the cinematography, music, scenery, and getting to see a live action loth-cat.
I considered coloring this picture as Mando from the show, but his armor is even more boring and colorless than Jango’s. Also, I couldn’t do that to poor Jango who’s already overlooked as it is.
Well
Done

Yay! Fan Art Friday! That is definitely Jango…Boba has a dent in his helmet so you can tell him apart π. Using the complimentary blue and green looks good. I’m not sure if you used graphite pencil to shade Jango’s armour or used crayon, but when I colour chromed objects with pencils I use a small piece of tissue paper and just give the pencil coverage a slight rub to “polish” it up and remove the stroke marks and leave bits here and there rough to represent grunge and dirt. Great work and I look forward to seeing Kiri’s effort for the comparison.

I did use pencil, so I will have to keep that tip in mind! I love finding new ways of making texture and pattern with these. Thanks for reading as always

Oh yeah, Jango gets totally overlooks and I LOVE him, I always loved him and thought his death was too quick, kind of like Darth Maul. I guess you can bring back a guy who has been cut in half but not someone whose head has been chopped lol.
I’m so happy you are finally on D+! It’s quite wonderful and could be what I watch 90% of the time, though, to be fair, Ayla is always watching it so that might be why too.
I love the Mandalorian (along with 99% of the world). It’s just SO well done and so many fan nods that it gets me quite gleeful. It brings me back to when I first fell in love with Star Wars and I’m like YES YES MORE MORE.
Can’t wait to see what you think of the latest episodes of TCW, plus the Bad Batch (I actually really enjoyed the Bad Batch and went in with low expectations).
I love what you did with the blue and green fades on the vine. It’s beautiful. Your armor is also a lot more chrome like than mine, mine just ended up very dark, though I was trying to leave some of it lighter in the middle. Oh well. You should have your son (Elliott?) help next time! That would be so fun!

Ok, I wasn’t even planning to watch Bad Batch but now you’ve convinced me. I’ve got to catch up on Marvel stuff too, but that can wait π My son just wants to watch the exact same episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse repeatedly…

Also, omg, I just realized I was in Columbus, OH in early August – do you live near there? I always swore I would contact you if I went to Ohio and I COMPLETELY FORGOT!! Please tell me it’s, like, 4-5 hours away so I feel less guilty. π¦

The blue is very cool! I read online that the colour of a Mandalorian’s armour has some sort of significance to them. Even though they were clones I wonder if this still is true for Jango?

Interesting thought! I would love to know more about why Jango’s armor is blue.
