You are probably familiar with the image of Piazza San Marco in Venice: the facade of the church, the bell tower, the arches of Doge’s Palace, the saint and lion on their columns.
But taking a look at the details of some of these famous landmarks was a fun way to explore them!

I love looking at architectural details! It amazes me how most of the beautiful details are forgotten in historical architecture merely for the overall building. Also, I’ll take some of that gelato now. Looks delicious!

Hi, Mei-Mei. Your last image made me smile. I agree! A great detail!! And I love how you focused in on the details in all these famous places. I really helps us see the whole picture–from a distance and then close-up. Thanks for sharing and joining this week!

Love that you showed us the details of this, Mei-Mei. I went there many years ago, so I have lost the details – thank you for the beauty!

My heart! Awww, I love these pictures :). I got to go to Venice in 2017 when I chaperoned a school trip to Italy. With the possible exception of Assisi, I didn’t fall in love with any place like I fell in love with Venice. I’d jump at the chance to go back. You’re pictures took me back there and I feel all warm and fuzzy now. Thank you for this unexpected gift!
Also, I now ABSOLUTELY CRAVE GELATO and I’m going to go have some ice cream cake but, while super delicious in its own right, we know it’s not going to compare.
