Welcome back to our Star Wars coloring book club, where Kiri from Star Wars Anonymous and I color the same image every month to compare and contrast. It’s been quite a while since we’ve done one because life sorta got in the way, but we are excited to be back with a mandala featuring everyone’s favorite Rodian, the bounty hunter Greedo.

I immediately had a rough start with this one because the green I initially chose for Greedo was too light and I had to go back and blend in a darker shade to make it look decent. But after that I got back into the swing of things. The color scheme here is mainly inspired by Greedo and his clothing, which kinda gives it a 70s vibe. Kiri also has a lot of say about Greedo’s clothing; you can check out her fashion critique and lovely coloring image on her blog.
It seems pretty fitting to start up again with this theme, considering that the first time I “met” Kiri was when she commented on a post of mine about Han shooting first in the cantina.
It was fun getting back into coloring this month! This one wasn’t my favorite but I’m happy with how it came out. We’ll be doing these every other month for now and I’m happy to take requests of themes you’d like to see us do haha.
Hi Mei-Mei, again as I said to Kiri – it’s great to see the Fan Art Friday rebooted! I missed seeing how the pair of you tackled each image. I notice you filled in Greedo’s eyes black and grey just hinting at the reflections in them, I think Kiri was a bit discombobulated by how the eyes looked with her version. The artist who drew the mandala really failed to consider how the Greedo face would look as it was rotated making the mis-aligned reflections stand out.
Anyhoo, I’m already eager to see round two in a month or so time. Thanks as always.

Yeah, I was confused by the eyes, so I just colored them in black! Thanks for stopping by, FT! 🙂

Discombobulated is a great word and spot on for how I was feeling about those eyes (thanks For Tyeth!).
Love your version. The blue is amazing and makes it pop. I, too, had trouble with the green but I just didn’t care enough like you did haha.
And I honestly can’t remember when we “met” so I’ll have to go check out that post. All I know is that you’re my only WordPress friend who’s stayed my WordPress friend from almost when I first started!

Lol omg I had no idea I posted about my work space. (I read our comments which I linked back to mine) wow I guess that’s what happens when you’ve had a blog for almost 10 years! I wonder what I would find on my blog if I went back far enough.
Do they still make those calendars? I would love another one!

I was just wondering about the calendars, too! I would love one. I’ll have to see if they still make those.
