Autumn is Ohio’s best season: the colors, the weather, the events! Even a car ride is a joy, but I really love visiting state parks at this time. Here are some views from Mohican State Park near the northeast part of the state.
I love identifying leaves in the fall (the tree in the featured image is a sassafras, which have some of the most beautiful colors). Here are some posts to get you started with some basic leaf IDs:
How to Recognise Different Types of Trees From Quite a Short Way Away (Fall leaf ID part 2)
Another fun feature of Ohio is that you never know whether it might rain or even snow on Halloween. Plan your costumes accordingly! 🤣

Autumn fun! What is this going to develop to – the lovely caterpillar?

I think it’s a banded tussock moth caterpillar, so he’ll become a fairly ordinary-looking moth. Much less dramatic!

Hi, Mei-Mei. I love the sassafras tree/leaves. Beautiful. And thanks for the links. I’m always wondering about the names of the trees!

Excellent! Halloween should definitely be represented in autumn.

That li’l Ewok is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I just told a friend the same thing about a Gremlins costume she’d gotten for her toddler…now I might have to tell her that got bumped down to #2. We’ll have to see XD.

Oooh I love the idea of toddler Gremlins 😀
That Ewok costume is truly adorable though. I look forward to using it again with my second!
