Distance is hard on us all right now. We know social distancing is necessary, but it is keeping us from our normal daily activities and relationships.
The towers of San Gimignano in the distance (Tuscany).
But sometimes, distances gives us a new perspective. We can see things in a different way, different parts of a whole together, that might not have been apparent up close.

Distance can be beautiful! It lets us see contrasts and patterns. We can see how far we have to go, or how far we’ve come.

But no matter the distance, always remember that you are not really alone. We are all in this together. Make sure you reach out to your loved ones!

Some lovely images Mei-Mei, and powerful, spot-on sentiments to go with them. Well done

Thank you! This theme apparently put me in a very philosophical frame of mind 😂

You know, I wasn’t planning to include that one, but then I stumbled upon it again and thought it was perfect for the theme. Glad I did, and glad you enjoyed it. Stay well!

Yes, Ach-to is a perfect picture to demonstrate Social Distancing….Luke was many miles away from anyone! And he still overcame the odds.

So now you got me wondering… Was his “social distancing” ultimately a good thing for Luke, or a bad thing?? I initially saw it more as cowardice, but maybe it gave him some necessary perspective!

Hi again, it may not have been great for Luke physically, but it did allow him to not “infect” the rest of the galaxy with the one-sided idea of the Jedi being the end all solution. He was the talisman of the “winning Jedi that brought balance and peace to the galaxy” but he didn’t really (which is sad for me from a technical writing point of view, I thought the Luke and Ani/Vader victory in ROTJ was good). But his distancing did help him in that he was able to assess himself and his status in the world and did return when he knew he was really needed.
