La Pedrera by Antoni Gaudí is a classic example of the organic curves of Catalan modernisme architecture.

Thanks! Barcelona is a city full of curves thanks to the moderisme influences. If I’d had time I would have found some shots of Parc Guell and other buildings too. We’ll save that for next time I guess 🙂

Isn’t it? I love Gaudi! I hear the inside is cool, too, but I didn’t get to go in.

Its the one thing that draws me to Spain. I love any architecture that refuses to follow straight lines. I did a blog on Hundertwasser recently. His buildings blow my mind!

Hi Mei-Mei, Wow! When I wrote my Star Wars backstory I set part of the story on the planet of Bal’Demnic home of the reptilian species, the Kon’Me. Parts of their cities were hewn into the rock faces of the cliffs and mountains and in my mind looked just like this magnificent building! I think the only difference is the buildings in my story had slightly domed window panes!

I love the connection you made to Star Wars! It does look like something from another planet. I’m picturing it with the domed window panes now 😁
