Fan Art Friday: It’s a Trap!

Welcome back to our Star Wars coloring book club, where Kiri at Star Wars Anonymous and I color the same image every month to compare and contrast.

Admiral Akbar is from Mon Calamari or Mon Cala, an oceanic world.  Its other inhabitants are the Quarren, sometimes derogatorily called “squidheads.”  Going with the aquatic theme, all the floral decorations in this picture reminded me of seaweed, hence why I colored it in shades of green.

I was kind of bummed that Ackbar died basically off-screen in The Last Jedi, but at least he was fighting to the end.  And he will live on forever in every “It’s a trap!” meme on the Internet.

Also check out Kiri’s here, complete with sometimes-rhyming poetry and flowers that look like amoebas.  Her color selection was on point this time!

I love that you have different colors /shades of green for the seaweed! It’s be unique and makes it less boring, I think. Next month let’s do the first page of the book. 👍

Hello Mei-Mei, I have just commented on Kiri’s attempt and I have to say both of you have done great jobs of colouring Gael in. And unbelievably you have both coloured his eyes in the EXACT same shade as each other!
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to do any art or colouring in recently as I have been really busy (and a bit stressed) helping to look after an elderly relative. But thanks for sharing your efforts and brightening my day.
