From County Kerry.
When you are taking a group tour, it is inevitable that the other group members will end up in some of your pictures, whether intentionally or not. Here I caught the back of the blonde high school senior from Australia on the tour with her mother.
I like this photo because not only is it a beautiful coastal landscape, but it reminds me of her personality. She was always going ahead and climbing everything, scrambling over rocks and peeking over cliff edges. Like a mountain goat wearing Chuck Taylors. She had a wonderful sense of adventure and curiosity, and this photo captured that for me in an interesting portrait that has nothing to do with her face.
Great photo, and I really get the feeling the young lady is thinking “Ooh what’s that up on the next headland? Let’s go and see!” There’s definitely a sense of curiosity and adventure in the picture. Maybe this picture demonstrates the “face” of exploration, i.e. the back of someone’s head 😀
