Weekly Photo Challenge: Textures

From Gougane Barra.

St. Finbarr’s Oratory has such a beautiful setting it’s no surprise that it’s frequently used for weddings.  It’s situated on a kind of peninsula out in a lake, where legend says that St. Finbarr built a monastery.

I love the contrast of the natural textures of leaves and grass next to the stone of the oratory, and I especially love the texture of the lake water as it’s rippled by the breeze.

You would definitely have to like quiet and solitude to live there, I think! But a perfect place to visit and recharge.

I would love to have a house at a place like that. Would be so calm and relaxing.

It definitely would be! I can see why it’s such a popular place for weddings.
