From County Kerry.
The view from Cahergal Ring Fort included a surprise preview of Ballycarbery Castle out by the water. Amid the modern houses, the 16th century ruins still stand tall. We visited the castle immediately after the ring fort; you can see some closer images of the ruins here, here, and here.
Some people find it odd to see megalithic structures, between medieval and modern homes. I think it’s great, people living through history, in one photo.

What a great way to put it! I was also struck by it when I went to Rome. It’s a fascinating thing to me because in my daily life, something really “old” might be from 1850 haha.
