Fan Art Friday: Harry and Hermione

Eventually, my blog will just devolve into coloring book pictures all the time.  But it’s so much fun!  I just got a bunch of new books for Christmas, so I’m sure I’ll be sharing some here occasionally.

These are actually postcards.  Hermione is going to my sister, who got me the postcards.  Harry is going to my nieces, who colored cards for me for my birthday, so I figured I could color a card for them, too.  Also, I’m trying to turn them into nerds.

Hermione’s Bag of Holding looked like a flower to me, so I colored it to look like a thistle.  She also has golden Timeturners around her.

I thought that circle behind Harry kinda looked like the Mirror of Erised, so I colored it blue, which for some reason seemed the most mirror-like color.  For the border of Harry’s, I chose the main colors for each house: red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, blue for Ravenclaw, and yellow for Hufflepuff.

I have always thought of myself as a Ravenclaw (I even bought a Ravenclaw scarf when I went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter), but Pottermore sorted me in Hufflepuff.  This has led to an existential crisis on my part.  I admit, I would have placed Hufflepuff second, but I don’t know if I can let go of my Ravenclaw identity.  And remember, the hat takes your feelings into account!

HUFFLEPUFFERS UNITE! I have always, firmly thought of myself in Hufflepuff and have no shame with that. I can’t imagine the pressure with being placed into any of the other houses. Ick. Ravenclaws are intelligent, Slytherin’s are ambitious, Gryffindor’s are brave – but what about Hufflepuff? The most I’ve heard about them is loyal and true (and exceedingly good looking [see Cedric Diggory {yes, this makes it a fact}]) and I like that. Loyal and true could be some of the best traits to have.

Also, I saw your Fan Art Friday title and had some fleeting moments of fear because I thought I forgot to post mine lol.

I love it when people have Hufflepuff pride! They are so unfairly overlooked as a House. I can definitely see you as a Hufflepuff! I totally have some Hufflepuff qualities (maybe not the good looking part? haha), I just always thought my Ravenclaw qualities were stronger.
