Welcome back to our monthly Star Wars Coloring Book club! We skipped October because Kiri was having fun in Ireland. Here’s our November entry:
Yes, I am one of those people that loves Ewoks. Return of the Jedi is my favorite of the Star Wars movies; I was about 8 when I first saw it, and what little girl can resist teddy bears?
Wicket W. Warrick is the first Ewok we meet in ROTJ, and I had a lot of fun with this picture. I looked at a picture of Wicket to get his fur color right. I wanted to keep the colors “forest-y,” so I did some leaves and vines in green, and then the flower details in “berry” colors. The little “art nouveau” detail around Wicket’s portrait is a tan color, which seemed both woodsy and fitting for the art style.
I’m really happy with the way this one came out and it was fun to do. Now I need to sharpen my green pencil! Also, check out Kiri’s awesome interpretation over at Star Wars Anonymous.
Omg ours are so similar! That is super eerie. What are the chances you would also use purple on those flowers and a similar shade? Now I’m confused as to why you think mine is better… I was so flattered but now I think it’s totally a draw.
And I am one who never loved the ewoks when I was younger, nor did I hate them. I just accepted them for who they are. Now, however, I like them a lot and what they represent. I think it was a good choice by Lucas despite what people say.

‘Return Of The Jedi’ has always been my favorite Star Wars movie! And yes, I’m with you. I love Ewoks too. Everyone always overlooks how the Rebellions would have failed without them. C’mon! Ewok love you know? Great job on the picture!

Since I’ve learned that “yub nub” means “freedom,” I often like imagine the scene at the end of ‘Braveheart’…but with Ewoks.
On the eve of the battle of Endor. Wicket is there addressing his Ewok companions saying, “Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell the Empire that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR YUB NUB!” It makes me happy :).
