April Camp NaNo

campnanoIn April I’ll be participating in Camp NaNo, although I’m not entirely sure why as I’ve yet to meet any of the word count goals I’ve set in previous NaNos.  But I don’t seem to be writing spontaneously, so NaNo is necessary to get anything at all done.

I’ll be continuing to work on my folk tale re-telling, based on Oochigeaskw.  I started it for NaNo in Nov 2013, and worked on it for July camp and Nov NaNoWriMo last year.  I’m up to around 11,000 words; my goal for this month is also 10,000 words.

I feel like I have a pretty good handle on the characters at this point, especially the narrator, there are just a few plot things I can’t work out in my head, and I think that’s making me avoid putting fingers to keyboard.  But I am desperate to get at least a complete draft out, word count be damned, just to say I did it.

I’ve got several posts for April already scheduled (just like all you A-Z posters, presumably 🙂 ), so you’ll still see content on this blog, I just won’t be around/commenting as much.  I’ll be back at the end of the month to let you know how it went!

Good luck with Camp NaNo! I’m not participating but hoping to write the remaining 4 short stories for my collection. 🙂

Good luck. You always crack me up because you are the one of the few people, like me, who can’t quite make that word count because life gets in the way. But maybe this time will be the month where you succeed…so for that – MTFBWY.

Haha, thanks. I’m probably never going to make a single word count goal, but at some point this book will be done!
