Weekly Photo Challenge: Split-Second Story

Sky pointing

From Española.

Blue-footed boobies (Sula nebouxii) may be the most famous denizens of the Galápagos Islands.  This male is performing a courtship dance toward the female; this part I captured is called “sky pointing,” but he will also make a kind of whistling noise, and then alternately raise his lovely blue feet as part of the ritual.
